Nicki Minaj arrested in Amsterdam for allegedly ‘carrying drugs’ at airport and claims ‘sabotage’.
Nicki Minaj was arrested at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport on suspicion of possession of drugs. Nicki Minaj was live on Instagram and captured the whole incident during her Pink Friday 2 World Tour.
Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, told Sky News affiliate network of NBC News: “We can confirm that we have arrested a 41-year-old American woman at Schiphol Airport because of possession of soft drugs.”
Nicki Minaj stated in the video “I’m not carrying drugs.” to the police. The star wanted a lawyer present during the incident as she stated “I need a lawyer present” and reiterated to the officers “no, I need a lawyer present now”.
The police took her luggage as Minaj claims “they took my luggage without consent”. The police would state to Minaj “they said they found weed” as she posted this on X formally twitter.
Nicki Minaj is reporting of sabotage as she states “I told y’all they was gonna try to stall for about four to five hours because it’s all about trying to make me late to my show,” while on live. On X she posted “this is how they plant things in your luggage”.
However, the drugs in possession belong to one of her security on staff on her live she states “Keep in mind they took my bags without consent. My security has already advised them those pre-rolls belong to him. Oh yea & the pilot wants me to take my ig post down,”.
According to the United States Department of State, which provides information on traveling within and outside of the Netherlands, marijuana and hashish are classified as “controlled substances.” While their use is legal in certain contexts, such as in the “coffee shops” popular with tourists in Amsterdam, it is illegal to bring any controlled substance, including marijuana, into or out of the Netherlands.
